CNC Machinist is responsible for producing precision parts according to specifications using CNC machining equipment. They
work with Haas VF-3 and VF-4 machining centers to cut, drill, and machine metal components to required dimensions and tolerances. The machinist sets up the machine, loads materials, verifies tooling and offsets, and monitors operations to ensure quality and accuracy. This role requires a strong understanding of machining principles, equipment operation, and quality assurance. Cross training on CNC routers and lathes is required to support production needs.
Essential Functions:
- Perform typical CNC machining operations to produce parts according to specifications and on schedule.
- Inspect parts produced for quality and conformity; correct any inconsistencies.
- Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions.
- Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow all safety regulations.
- Perform prescribed preventative maintenance on machines as required.
- Inspect parts according to department SOP’s and identify quality issues.
- Consistently meet production and quality requirements.
- Assist in training new operators.
- Crosstrain and provide support on a 3 Axis CNC router and lathes as needed.
- Provide support to the shop in cycle counting raw material inventory.
Minimum qualifications: - 1-2 years of CNC machining experience required. Experience with Haas VF-3 and VF-4 machining centers preferred.
- Good math skills (converting fractions to decimals).
- Able to read precision measuring equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Pay: $25-$27.00/HR DOE
Schedule: Monday-Friday 6:00am – 2:30pm
