Position Summary
The Welding Team Lead is responsible for leading and supporting the Welding Department in achieving daily production, quality, and safety objectives. This role combines hands-on welding responsibilities with team leadership, training, and workflow coordination to ensure efficient operations and exceptional product quality.
Essential Responsibilities
- Lead and support the Welding Department in meeting daily production, quality, and safety goals.
- Perform MIG and TIG welding of component parts according to blueprint specifications.
- Interpret blueprints and welding symbols to accurately complete work assignments.
- Train, mentor, and support welders with troubleshooting, quality concerns, and production challenges.
- Monitor workflow and coordinate job priorities to ensure timely completion of work orders.
- Operate hand tools, grinders, clamps, and other fabrication equipment safely and effectively.
- Build basic jigs and fixtures to improve production efficiency when needed.
- Rig and move materials and parts safely throughout the production process.
- Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with company quality standards and specifications.
- Promote Lean Manufacturing principles, continuous improvement initiatives, cost reduction efforts, and workplace safety.
- Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work environment.
- Perform basic maintenance on welding equipment and communicate repair needs.
- Attend and help facilitate daily team meetings.
- Foster a positive team culture and serve as a resource for department personnel.
Minimum Qualifications
- 1-2 years of experience leading a production or manufacturing team.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a production welder.
- Proficiency in MIG and TIG aluminum welding required.
- Experience welding cab racks, toolboxes, or similar products is highly preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and welding symbols.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to self-assess work quality and exercise sound judgment.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Reliable, dependable, and trustworthy with a strong work ethic.
- Must successfully pass a pre-employment weld test.
Pay: $28-$31.00/HR DOE
Schedule: Monday-Friday 6:00am – 2:30pm
